Shown here just West of the 24th Street Bridge (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #5713 and #5797. Both are EP-22's built by GM-EMD and rated at 2,250 horsepower each. #5713 was constructed in October of 1952, while #57976 was built in June of the same year. In this context, they're pulling a passenger train down the Allegheny Mountains, and will soon pause at the Altoona Station both to change crews and to discharge/board passengers. William E.
