PRR Locomotive Ready Tracks, 1955
Dziobko. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by John Dziobko, Jr., that was taken in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 16 September 1955. Prominent here are the Locomotive Ready Tracks associated with the Pennsylvania Railroad's 55-stall East Altoona Roundhouse. The westbound Ready Tracks are at the right; it's populated with a few live steam engines poised for their next assignments. The eastbound Ready Tracks are at the left; it's populated with nothing but fireless locomotives awaiting oblivion. Visible in the middle distance is Juniata's 17th Street Bridge. Photo taken from#atop the East Altoona Coaling Tipple.
