Correct number on the E 8 is 833. It started life as Erie 833 in 1951, retaining its number after the DLW merger in 1960. It went on to be one of the Conrail executive E units, becoming CR 4022. EL 833 and 825 were commonly used on EL office car trains, both surviving into Conrail. The 825 became CR 4014 and worked commuter trains on the NY & Long Branch out of South Amboy for several years.

This is an excellent album, by the way. I didn't get to Meadville til much later-I was a high school kid in NY City in 1976; Meadville was out of reach-so missed all this. It's a wonderful look back. I hope Fred Stuckmann sees this album. He worked for EL in Akron at the time of the photos.

Thx for the note Tom! Number corrected! I was only a 17 year old at the time of this photo. I knew an E unit was something special because they were disappearing.

Very awesome Paul, not worried about a bit of blurry here and there, thank you for the share.
