| Former CN FPA-4 #6789 was the unit for an excursion train at the Monticello, IL Railway Museum on 6-15-2109. This view shows the engineer's controls. There are four gauges in front of him, other controls on the control stand to his left, and a handset, looking like the receiver part of a telephone, at his right. Interestingly, the handset has the letters "D&RGW" embossed on it! The engineer graciously allowed me to come into the cab and I am grateful beyond words for the opportunity. Be assured, my hands touched nothing except the handrails and my camera during the time I was in the cab chatting with the crew. They have great people at the Monticello Railway Museum! |
