Seeing the New Haven units on other Metro North lines is not uncommon. Connecticut DOT funded them, but the power runs as a pool, and the diesels go anywhere on the east side of the Hudson(west of Hudson trains run out of Hoboken on the ex Erie Lackawanna, and have their own group of F 40's), though that's almost entirely the New Haven trains to Danbury, and the Hudson Line trains to Poughkeepsie. Maintenance is done at Croton shop, so they'd have to run there in any event. They are sharp looking units. Too bad the weather wasn't nicer.
