Prophet. Here is the first of three successive duplicate 35mm color slides of photos by John M. Prophet III that were taken in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, on 24 July 1949. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5544, a T-1 (4-4-4-4) "Duplex" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during July of 1946 and retired in January of 1956 after just ten years of revenue service. Visible on the far right are two PRR GG-1's waiting for their next assignments. |
