Sweetland. Here is the third of three successive 35mm color slides of photos by David R. Sweetland that were taken in Gallitzin, Pennsylvania, in July of 1959. Shown here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #8705 and #8703. Both are FS-24M road switchers built by Fairbanks-Morse in September of 1956 and rated at 2,400 horsepower each. They are serving as rear-end pushers on a mixed-cargo freight train that has already begun passing through the New Portage Tunnel on its way down the Allegheny Mountains via the Horseshoe Curve to Altoona and points East.
