Kingsland Passengers
A morning that started sunny and somewhat warm quickly turned cloudy and chilly. Passengers waiting to escape the cold air watch as a 49-year old ex-CNJ GP40P leads their train into the station. The rail in the platform below are some of the remains of the Delaware, Lackawanna & Western's Kingsland Wye. At one point these old buried rails routinely saw local freight trains and shop moves from the Kingsland Car Shops run across the platform. Trash trains to North Arlington in the '80s to the early '90s were the last regular run through traffic to polish these old strings of steel. Today the track is mostly forgotten except for occasional MoW equipment storage.
