SNC 56
The SNC's other BL-2, wearing a slightly different variation of the road's paint scheme. The unit, which has yet to be put into service on the former Adirondack Branch, was one of the last two BL-2s constructed for the Bangor & Aroostook in 1949. Originally BAR 556, and later renumbered 56, this unit would be one of two BL-2s lightened by ten tons in order to be operated over the Bunker Brook trestle on the Greenville Branch. Later sold into private ownership, it would be displayed in faded BAR blue at the National Railroad Museum in Green Bay, WI with sister unit 52 until it was acquired by Iowa Pacific.
