One Hot Boxcar of Lumber  Contributor's Pick!
The San Jac (pronounced JACK) Local (named for the branch's original end point in San Jacinto, CA) has been running through and then southeast of Perris about once a week after sunset. Today they had her out to make a delivery about noon to Grove Lumber, the last customer on the line and just beyond where I215 flies over the branch. The line is owned by Metrolink and it will eventually run trains beyond to Hemet. So why was the San Jack out there in daylight. Could be because its Friday and the car is very late. This is Grove's (via highway) distribution site. The car is at the Grove Lumber unloading dock now.
