L&N GP30 1045
L&N GP30 1045 was passing under the Galvez Street Overpass on a transfer run from the railroad's Gentilly Yard to Julia Street Yard and the MP. In the foregound was Montegut Street, while the Southern Railway's Oliver Yard was on the other side of the L&N's track. This L&N line was built in the early 1950's as a part of the New Orleans Union Passenger Terminal Project, to provide it with continued access to its trackage along the Mississippi River while allowing it to remove its line on the median of Elysian Fields Avenue. One of the L&N's successors, either the Seaboard System or the CSX, abandoned this line in the 1980's
