| User Notes: | RIO USUMACINTA, built in 1913 as the Matagorda, renamed into the Rio Series in 1948. Sleeper, contained 10 open sections, 2 private compartments, and 1 drawing room. Air-conditioned in 1930, converted to maintenance-of-way service in 1960. Painted aluminum, all but five open sections removed, lunch counter installed. Sold to Smith & Chambers scrap firm in Washington State, donated to Wichita Falls Railroad Museum (TX) in 1990, where it resides today. Repainted into Eagle livery. |
