No. 4 pushing a string of JRF containers back to be unloaded, Minami Senju. Once in place, the flats will be quicky divested of thier containers with big forklifts. The HDR 300 operates very quietly and runs about most of the time in battery-electric mode. During my 45 minutes watch, I noticed its engine only running once. In preliminary tests done by JR the HD300 showed significant savings in fuel, noise and emissions over the DE series. -Seems like the Brakeman needs a place to sit a few...! |

Aside from being boxy they are very similar to the DE 10 family they will replace. They have B B trucks and a 671 hp. engine powering its Lithium Ion batterys when charge gets low. Here the No. 4 works Minami Senju. |
