In April 1973, Reading #2102 was leased to Delaware & Hudson as part of it's 150th birthday. "Dressed" with elephant ears, recessed headlight and number boards, to resemble Delaware & Hudson #302, it was doubleheaded with Canadian Pacific #1278 (which was "dressed" as Delaware & Hudson #653).
On May 26, 1973, "D&H 302" operated singularly from Hoboken to Binghamton over Erie Lackawanna trackage, returning to Hoboken the next day. This round trip was High Iron Comapny sponsored. |
