| Album Info: | For once the weather and light god cooperated for a run up the old Maine Central main line to Northern Maine Junction. A friend & I caught this freight at East Newport and followed him towards Bangor. All single track now, however back in the day this was double track from Pittsfield to Hermon Pond with a mile or so of 3 track before turning in to single track for 3 miles into NMJ. Bet Pan Am would like to have the volume of traffic to make a return to multi track necessary. The economy of Northern Mine would certainly be set up and take note! /DL |
