Album Info: | After hearing that CP Rail would be ending their trackage rights agreement to operate their trains on CSX in Michigan as of July 31, 2010, I ventured out to document the last remaining CP train on CSX (train X500) on July 31, 2010 (all other CP trains left for Norfolk Southern back in 2006). I began in Holland and ventured south towards Indiana in hopes of photographing the train. I heard the train calling out the signal at Kirk siding near Hartford while I was approaching Benton Harbor on the highway. So I turned around and ventured to Grand Junction to meet it. Then I followed the train north to Grand Rapids and east to Lansing where I encountered a few more trains along the way.
As of Aug. 1, I heard there was another train X500 operating on CSX in Michigan and also heard there is another X500 called out for Mon., Aug. 2 to run on CSX in Michigan. Wonder what's going on between CP and CSX after they officially announced the end of their trackage rights agreement weeks ago??? |
