U Boat in a cage. |
Description: |
Can you imagine 2500 horses in a corral this size? It's just wrong. After looking at Steven Langford's LS&I pics it all clicked. My buddy Bill gave me this pic along with the ore dock ones after he vacationed in the UP a few years ago. |

Sent to my son by a friend of his. |
Description: |
Hi Fred, To put this into perspective, this is where the Long Island stores its trains from morning 'till afternoon to eliminate deadhead moves. The photographer's back is to New Jersey, the round building is Madison Sq. Garden, which is on top of Penn Station. The yard spans between 12th Ave & 10th Ave, and Between 31st and 33rd St. That "loop" around the end at 12th Ave. is the old NY Central High line, parts have been converted to a walking trail. THANK YOU TIM DARNELL! |
