| Album Info: | I couldn't have asked for a better day for railfanning. Gorgeous sunshine, perfect warm temps for the first day of October, and a ridiculously busy day of trains. Dolton was today's hot spot as trains were literally lining up in all directions and constantly coming through the crossing. At one point there were three trains waiting to come out of Blue Island Yard on the IHB while train lights were visible in the distance on both the north and south UP/CSX joint main and the westbound IHB and CSX. It was a veritable traffic jam with literally no breaks in the action. Several railfans showed up throughout the day at Dolton, even one from as far off as Denver. If you're from out of town, Dolton is where to get your money's worth. |
