Album Info: | The Elizabethport shops were used extensively for service of Conrail Alco's, EMD's, and U-boats in 1979. In February, notable units in the shop lines included RS3M 9947 and whitelined ex-CNJ SW-1 8408 in fresh CR blue, ex-PC RS11 7647 and U33C 6561, and ex-LV GP18 7499. Former CNJ GP40P 4106 was receiving service at the rear of the shops. Ex-PC SW-1 8520 and CR GP8 5409 in fresh blue were seen in the yard. In August, SW-1 8408 remained in the shop line but did not have it's left side number whitelined. Also in the shop line were ex-CNJ SW7 8870 in fresh blue, ex-EL U33C 6575, ex-CNJ GP7 5680, and GP15-1 1605 in fresh blue. CR SW-8 8693 in EL paint worked the yard. National Locomotive RS36 1800 rested at the rear of the shops between assignments. |
